HOW IT BEGAN

It began with a conversation. This was followed by some words out of which came an idea.

It ends with a click from a much loved Revox B77 Reel to Reel tape deck on which most of the songs were originally recorded.

It is supposed to be something other than an album of songs. It is what it became.

It was perhaps an idea which should have been ignored, an idea which was no more than an excuse to reissue a set of previously heard songs.

But once it had begun to take shape I just followed on until it had been completed.

There are thirteen songs. They all belong to a phase in my song writing career when I did perform.

WHAT IT BECAME

The explanation is in the spoken word introduction but for anyone who will not be listening to it the relevant verse is below

A set of the songs I’d choose if I were ever to perform

In a small and low lit venue nowhere near where I was born

With an audience of strangers who know nothing of my songs

And for sure would have no interest in trying to sing along

THE SONGS WERE NOT RE-RECORDED.  THE PREVIOUS RECORDINGS WERE REMASTERED FOR THE ‘PERFORMANCE’

The interspersed words were recorded to go alongside the tracks
